  • 1 pm - 2.15 pm  ”Check-in” SHERATON Essen Hotel   
  • approx. 2.45 - 5 pm Sightseeing tour of Essen. Amongst others, we pass the Thyssenkrupp Quartier, Margarethenhöhe neighbourhood and more.
  • 7 pm Dinner in the hotel

  • Morning  Free time
  • Noon  Lunch at your own choice. There is a large number of restaurants nearby the hotel.
  • 2.30 pm  Transfer to the Zollverein (UNESCO world heritage site)
  • approx. 3 pm - 5 pm Guided tour along the “monument path” Denkmalpfad Zollverein® with the title ”Über Kohle und Kumpel” (“About coal and miners”), then return to the hotel    
  • approx. 7.30 pm  Dinner in the restaurant Jagdhaus Schellenberg,

Saturday, May 12, 2018

  • approx. 9 am  Departure to a roundtrip with the title "Von Kohle und Stahl" ("Of coal and steel", with English tour guide)
  • approx. 1.30 pm  Stopover at Centro Oberhausen. Opportunity to have lunch at one of the Centro restaurants, e.g. Ärwins Brauhaus (www.brauhaus-jacobi.de)
  • approx. 3 pm - 5 pm  Guided tour through the Gasometer Oberhausen incl. the new exhibition "Der Berg ruft" ("The call of the mountains"). (German, English)
  • 7:30 pm Gala dinner at the SHERATON Hotel
